Survey Says

Because I took the longest hiatus in history on this site, I feel like I’m exactly who I was 13 years ago on some days, but the reality is, I’m not. I’m more outgoing, outspoken, and I have opinions on things I never used to think about. Like politics. So, today, I’m going to answer some survey questions so you can get to know me again. I’m adding the survey at the bottom of my post in hopes you will take it and come back to leave your blog post URL so I can come and read your answers and comment on your post. I love getting to re-know my previous blog followers all over again and meeting new to me, bloggers.

Are you ready?

Survey Says….

1. Name you were born with?

Terri.  I think my parents must have been secretly wishing for a boy because they gave me a name that could be used for either gender.

2. Where were you born?

Kodiak, Alaska.  My dad was in the service at the time.  We moved when I was too young to remember it.  I used to tell everyone I lived in an igloo.  I was devastated when I learned that wasn’t true.  I mean seriously.  What kind of parents would deny letting their kids live in a freezing cold, ice home? *wink*

My Little Port

3. Birthday sign?

Taurus the Wandering Bull and it fits me perfectly.

Strengths: Reliable, patient, practical, devoted, responsible, stable

Weaknesses: Stubborn, possessive, uncompromising

Taurus likes: Gardening, cooking, music, romance, high-quality clothes, working with hands

Taurus dislikes: Sudden changes, complications, insecurity of any kind, synthetic fabrics

Granny panties, baby.  I don’t want anything bunched up, scrunched up, or shifting around down there.

5. What is the song you hear most often?

You will find out tomorrow.  Make a note to come back.  Don’t forget because it’s a very important day concerning my first crush.

6. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Not certain if I should put a bad habit here or if it means something I don’t like about myself.  I think I’ll just go with what causes me the greatest pain, my back.  If I could change anything about myself, my back would be perfect.  No reconstruction, no rods, no fusions.

7. What’s a great book you’ve read recently?

The Funhouse by Dean Koontz.  Give me horror over sappy love stories, any day.

8. What’s your favorite thing about one of your grandparents?

My grandparents died before I was born.  There’s actually a sad story surrounding my maternal grandmother.  She disappeared when my mom and uncle were young.  Foul play was believed to be involved. She was finally declared dead years later when her body couldn’t be found.

9. What’s your favorite smell in the whole world?

Cinnamon oil in my potpourri crocks.  It’s the only scent in the world that makes me want to clean.  I also love making cinnamon toothpicks with it and gnawing on them all day.

10. What’s the one food you could never bring yourself to eat?

Liver,  definitely liver.  I just about lost my stomach contents writing this, just thinking about it.   I do not eat organs.

I tend to repeat myself. I tend to repeat myself. I tend to repeat myself.

I TEND TO REPEAT MYSELF.

12. What is the scariest movie you’ve ever seen?

13. What’s the most useless talent you have?

Nail tapping.  I can out tap the best of them.  *tap, tap, tippity, tap, tap, tap, ta, da, tap*

My youngest daughter. 🙂  She’s really going to shoot me for this.

20. What quote or saying do people spout but is complete BS?

Life is short.  Hello, life is the longest thing you will ever do.

21. What’s the first thing you do when you get home from a trip?

Strip and hop in the shower.  I don’t want to bring home any germ.  I then dump all my clothes in the washing machine to wash. I don’t want to slow down for illnesses so I avoid them by being careful.  I go through entirely too much hand sanitizers, lol.

This is a fun idea. I love these kinds of things and it’s always cool to get to know a little more about the person whose posts I read all the time.

    1. mylittleport says:

I do too. I love getting to know the bloggers on a more personal level whose blogs I follow.

  2. Amber Myers says:

What a fun interview! I repeat myself too. It’s because I sometimes worry people haven’t heard me. We have a lot of the same addictions it seems! I love Netflix, TV, and Amazon Prime as well.

    1. mylittleport says:

As an adult, I have always repeated myself and I blame it on nursing. I wanted to make sure our patients knew by heart the instructions I gave them so I’d repeat myself over and over, lol. It’s just stuck with me.

    1. mylittleport says:

Thank for playing along Kathy. I loved your answers and that is one of my favorite songs too. Gag at your worst food choice. HA HA. I lol and can relate.

  3. Alli Smith says:

I loved learning more about you! It’s always fun to go behind the scenes of a blogger. For instance, I had no idea you were born in Alaska. What happened to your grandmother is such a horrible tragedy.

    1. mylittleport says:

It really is a tragic story. I can’t imagine losing either of my parents this way.

  4. Jeanette says:

This was fun to read! I love learning about other people! Every one has such an interesting story! I am SO sorry to hear about your grandma! That is such a terrible thing to go through!

    1. mylittleport says:

I wish I had known her and all of my grandparents. I can’t imagine not having my grandkids. They’re such a huge part of my life. There is a lot more to the story that I chose not to share. It is a tragedy. They lost their dad too as he made it his life’s mission to find out what happened to her so he wasn’t emotionally or physically there for the kids

Alaska was our home for 12 years and two of our three children went back to live. Granny panties all the way Good to get to know you better.

    1. mylittleport says:

I would love to visit Alaska as an adult. The thought of the bears is a bit intimidating but I hope to one day go visit and see the Island I was born on.

  6. I would go to New York City too if given a choice. Just like you, we have been to Disney but not to New York.

    1. mylittleport says:

I hope to make it to New York one day. I’ve never been to a city that big before. I think it would absolutely amazing to see.

  7. Nikki says:

LOL, I’m totally with you on the granny panties! I’ve always been a night person too, up until very recently when my body did a whole switcheroo on me. My current biggest addiction is an odd one: liquid bandage. But it has to be the kind of CVS, because that’s the only one that peels off. I’m a chronic peeler. I should probably switch to non-toxic peel-off nail polish for kids, lol.

    1. mylittleport says:

Ha ha ha, I will have to try the liquid bandage. My granddaughter drives me nuts with glue. She puts it all over her hands so it can dry and she can pull it off. Leaves a mess everywhere.

  8. Kelly Reci says:

I love posts exactly like these – it’s nice getting to know you! A good friend of mine lives in Alaska and he’s been wanting me to visit for a long time. I should just go ahead and do it!

    1. mylittleport says:

Oh yes, you really should. I think it would be an amazing adventure. And my at the photos you’d get there.

  9. WHAT A FUN IDEA – I AM SO WITH YOU ON THE LIVER. WE HAVE NEVER BEEN BIG DISNEY AS MY SON LOVED UNIVERSAL MORE, BUT AS I GOT OLDER I LIKE THE THINGS AT DISNEY, NOT THE RIDES MORE. HOPE TO MAKE IT TO NY AT CHRISTMAS ONE OF THESE DAYS.

    1. mylittleport says:

We should plan a blogger trip to NY one year. Start planning in January to give everyone time to save. Double up on rooms to help save $ and have the time of our lives.

Nice to meet you Terri and what a way to introduce yourself. I can’t wait to see your response to question #16 What are the best and worst purchases you’ve ever made? C’mon there’s gotta be that one thing that you bought that you talk about anytime anyone mentions shopping. For me it’s my boots – best AND worst.

    1. mylittleport says:

Nice to meet you too and thank you. Probably my worst purchase was my futon. It is the most uncomfortable futon I’ve ever seen. It is so horrible that I can’t even sit on it to watch TV in my den. I bought it to have an extra bed but I can’t even imagine anyone sitting on it much less sleeping on it. I’ve got a piggyback I’m working on for a new sink down and stay awhile, comfy sofa. Honestly can’t think of best purchase. Unless it’s my car. The payments are just ridiculously high which makes it not so much as a fave as it could be.

    1. mylittleport says:

Thank you and it’s really nice to meet you too. I look forward to following your blog.

  11. Sarah Bailey says:

It is amazing the things we say when we are children, I remember I didn’t like the day I was born so I decided I was born on another day.. I look back now and think way?!

    1. mylittleport says:

Lol. I always wanted to change my name because I thought it was boyish.

This is such a fun post to get to know you better! 😀 My fiance is a Taurus and that’s pretty spot on hahaha.

    1. mylittleport says:
